Hazel Grove

Rotary Quiz Night

October has become the month for our Quiz Night. Across Britain the ‘Pub Quiz’ is a community event which brings people together in teams to test their ability to answer questions posed by a quiz master. The Hazel Grove Rotary Quiz is held at the Conservative club. Preparation involves seeking contributions from the retailers along the A6 who are asked to donate raffle prizes for the event.

The charity chosen to benefit from the evening is asked to contribute a team which will take part in the quiz. This year a team from Walthew House took part. Walthew House is an independent local charity supporting people in Stockport who are blind, visually impaired, Deaf or hard of hearing or who have dual sensory loss.

The charity is named after John Walthew, who founded the charity in 1882. The evening was a great success and Hazel Grove Rotary presented a cheque to the charity at the close of the quiz.
